I am a firm believer that we should photograph the people we love. When my grandmother passed away, I was so glad that I’d taken her portrait and that I had it to keep. Since then, I’ve offered private portrait commissions as a way of marking and preserving people at various stages of their lives. The goal of each sitting is to produce a print, taken from black and white film, on fine art paper.

Fine art portrait sessions are designed to produce art objects that you hang on your wall, see every day, and live with. I’ve spent over twenty yearsa decade working as an artist. In that time, I’ve only deepened how much I value photographs as art objects. I also believe art can be a service. My goal with fine art portraits is to create an art object that speaks to your life and your loved ones.

I believe portraits should make you curious about the subject of the image, and I always work to produce photographs that hint at the complexity of a subject. For more information about fine art portrait commissions, get in touch.
